  I'm getting baptized

  i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.

  my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.

  i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

  with last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.

  various dutch (netherlands) media mentioned the anti-gay children movie on jw.org,.

  and gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual organizations are shocked, and some gay people.

  are reporting the movie to the local police.. the official spokesman of the dutch branch office in emmen declared that the movie is.

  Where is the freedom of speech and freedom of religion?

  It's for JW children only. I cannot think of any other tactful way to convey our religious belief that homosexuality, although it's viewed as good/normal/acceptable in many of today's societies, the God of the Bible does not approve. End of story.

  The elder who gave the part said that it's the goal here in the States that all publishers use a 'smart' electronic device from now on for meetings and preaching. He encouraged all to follow the tutorial offered in the JW app.

  The pressure is on. I already feel my usual "go along to get along", cave in attitude coming on.

  And, yes... I am a technophobe, and find 'social media' just abhorrent; won't catch me dead on Twitter/Facebook/Youtube/Instagram/whatever else out there. Always have been, however, always end up using whatever technology is absolutely necessary for our times; this is how I ended up with all these electronic toys already. Sure helps that hubby and others in my immediate family/friends are so tech savvy and on board with everything 'techno', so I ride their coattails.

  God dammit with this technology bound world!!!

  I have the electronic toys already (iPhone(s), iPad, tablet, HP notebook). The thing is that I really like/prefer stuff in print; Hey, I'm old and really enjoy reading the paper printed stuff!!!

  i remember many years back a fellow ministerial servant saying this to me.

  he felt that even if jehovah’s witnesses were not the only true religion, the regimented routine of meetings and field service and the strict rules and enforcement provided a beneficial structure for his life.

  at the time i thought if this wasn’t “the truth”, i’d have no need for all that “structure”.

  I have simply accepted that my death will come 1st rather than my liberation.

  What makes it even worse is that my family is so JW hardcore that I'm dragged in to take part in assemblies, traveling around, Warwick crap.

  In my old age, I'm hanging on to sanity by a thin thread. I fantasize with one evening telling hubby that I just want a different life without the Organization and just dealing with whatever comes afterwards.

  It's just a fantasy as I'm too old to start all over. What's coming next for me is illness/death, and to be alone without help for those events is not acceptable.
